We like to start early for our road trips, and also to have our breakfast along the way. It was a misty morning when we started.
Road kills are common on the highway but that knowledge did not prepare me for what was to happen next. 2 mynas had to fly towards my car instead of across the highway. One of them crashed on my windscreen, leaving some stain (not blood, like water) and the other went below the under carriage, I think. I think I just "hit and run", I really felt bad but really, no one, not the best drivers can "siam" / avoid that.
Stop over at R&R Ayer Keroh for toilet break and realised that it was too early, so the food stalls were not open. Traffic was light so far. The showers looked inviting, with the morning sun rays shining through.
Pulled over at R&R Dengil for a bite just in case there are delays ahead. Not so tasty Fried Tom Yum Bee Hoon. Coffee / Kopi was average but a relief for me.
Arrived at Port Klang and started to navigate to Mo Sang Kor Bak Kut Teh 毛山稿肉骨茶. My cranky phone navigation kept losing satellite signals, so we had to drive around more to find the place. Read more about this popular Bak Kut Teh place at this post.
After satisfying the stomach, we continued on to Sekinchan 适耕庄 for the green paddy fields, baby blue sky and the breeze in the big open space.

Next, we went in search of the Sekinchan Fishing Village.
To our surprise, the Redang Beach / Pantai Redang 热浪沙滩 and the Wishing Tree 许愿树 is just round the corner. Sekinchan Resort is also in the same area.
We hope to revisit Sekinchan paddy fields during the mature and harvesting time. With that we set off to our actual first stop, Ipoh. It was quite a bumpy rough drive as the roads were not in good repair. Next time I shall use the Highway instead.
Our "must eat" restaurant whenever we are in Ipoh, was closed for a few days in lieu of Chinese New Year. No luck, we visited next on the list, Ching Han Guan / CHG / 锺汉元 for the biscuits / peah (in Hokkien).
After buying biscuits, we headed for dinner at Onn Kee (Tauge Ayam / Beansprouts & Steamed Chicken) 安记芽菜鸡沙河粉 which is located on the street behind.
I felt the need to balance the yin and yang in the body, after being under the sun today, so we went to Tan Ngan Lo Herbal Tea 单眼佬凉茶 for a drink before taking a stroll in the vicinity.
to be continued ...
