First thing we noticed was, every table has a container with dark liquid, after tasting, it was Gula Melaka and it was really delicious, with the right amount of sweetness, slightly bitter and a hint of burnt fragrance.

Another first for us was the cendol was served separate from the main bowl, in a plastic container. It was silky smooth but without any fragrance (I like them to be slightly lemak)

The bowl of ice shavings was old school coarseness, not snowflake smooth. I like it for being as it should be. Gula Melaka and snow white coconut milk (tasted slightly salty) were poured over the ice shavings when it was served. The combo of sweetness, bitter taste, salty, cool ice and fragrance was just awesome. The Gula Melaka was so yummy that we had to add more as we lapped up the remaining ice shavings, appreciating the self-service container in front of us.

Red beans were buried below the "ice mountain", were soft and cooked just right, and it was bland.

Some say this is the best cendol in Melaka, I can agree (putting the price aside), until we find another that can wow us more than this version.
