This was an unplanned visit, I was wondering what to have for lunch after a viewing in the Setia Tropika area and we saw the relatively new shop lots in business here. A quick turn into the car park and we decided to try this Yong Tau Foo shop. It turned out to be the one that has been shared by Food Groups members a few times and also by famous food blogger Tony Kaki.

Our hopes increased as we realised where we are, ho sey liao, it should be an enjoyable meal.

While it was not full house, we almost had to share a table. Business is rather brisk at lunch. Being our first time, we were at a loss how to place order. So we got ourselves the menu after sitting for a while, unable to catch the eyeballs of the service crew.

Finally, the friendly lady came over to get our order. Mainly there are 2 types, fried and soup and one can order piece rate, Rm 1.20 per piece.  Selection is sufficient, not massive (can refer to photo). There is a choice of staple, rice, noodle, bee hoon, etc.

It was a bit warm that day while we waited to fill our curiosity as well as  our deflated stomach.

The soup stood out (to me), flavorful and faintly fragrant. Tou Fu / Beancurd was silky smooth and of good size.

The filling paste is made from fish and has a bouncy texture. There is no pork in the paste, unlike the more savoury Hakka type.

The fried pieces that we had were not impressive, and seemed that the filling is lesser. The dips were ordinary and we could get by without.

Very catchy and effective frontage, one will not miss this place easily. Parking was ample that day.

I took a shot of this tower while waiting.
